Data controller

Rémi Demoulin, publisher of ERO Translation | contact@erosakuga.com

Data collected

ERO Translation only collects the data necessary for it to function:

  • Email address and display name (username), provided when creating an account
  • Password, never stored in plain text (hashed with a one-way algorithm)
  • Last login date
  • Contribution history: who translated or approved which string, and when — necessary for the platform's collaborative operation (attribution, version tracking, resolving disagreements between translators)
  • Roles and languages assigned on each project
  • Technical cookies: see dedicated section below

No other data is collected. No advertising trackers, no audience-measurement tools.

Purposes and legal basis

This data is processed for the sole purpose of running the service you explicitly asked to join (via an invitation link): authentication, managing access rights by project and language, traceability of contributions, and, where applicable, resetting your password. The legal basis is the performance of the requested service and the legitimate interest of its proper operation.

Data recipients

No one. Data is never sold, shared, or transferred to a third party, and is not used for any commercial or advertising purpose. Only the managers of the project(s) you contribute to can see your display name and email, as part of managing their translation team.

Subprocessors

Data hosting is provided by EX2 Inc. (Canada). Emails (password resets) are sent through the SMTP server associated with the hosting.

Retention period

Data is kept for as long as your account is active. Password reset links and "stay signed in" cookies expire automatically (within 1 hour and 90 days respectively) and are regularly purged. You can request the deletion of your account and your data at any time.

Cookies

ERO Translation uses two cookies, both strictly necessary for the service to function:

  • Session cookie: keeps you signed in while you browse
  • "Stay signed in" cookie: saves you from signing in again on every visit, if you enabled it

As these cookies are strictly necessary for the service you're using (and not for audience measurement or advertising purposes), they are exempt from consent requirements under applicable regulation (CNIL).

Security

Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Sensitive tokens (password reset, persistent login) are also stored hashed in the database, never in plain text.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to, and port your data. To exercise any of these rights, write to contact@erosakuga.com — response within one month. You also have the right to file a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
